The Namibia Press Agency, (NAMPA), was established in 1991 as a national news agency responsible for the distribution of local, regional and international news.

NAMPA Kunene Regional Bureau

The Kunene Regional Bureau of the Namibia Press Agency is based in the town of Opuwo, the administrative capital of that region. Opuwo is situated about 720 kilometers northwest of Namibia's capital city.

The office is covering most of the Great Kunene Region, with the exception of Outjo town.

Other places that are covered by the Kunene regional office are Khorixas, Kamanjab, Sesfontein, Etanga, Omakange and Etoto village. The office is also responsible for covering news in such faraway places such as Ruacana, Okangwati and Epupa.

The NAMPA Bureau is located within the Offices of the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MICT), along Vita Thom Street.
