Escalator outages spread from Berlin to rail stations across Germany

Berlin (dpa) - Escalators at major railway stations across Germany have been taken out of service due to technical problems, in a disruption affecting some 130 units nationwide, state-owned rail operator Deutsche Bahn said on Friday. The outages stem from issues with a specific type of escalator. Two escalators of the affected model recently came to an abrupt halt while in operation in Berlin, prompting safety inspections and repairs, said Deuts......
