Hunter reports sighting of 'big cat' in western German forest

Trier (dpa) - A hunter has reported seeing what he believes to be a big cat in a forest area in western Germany. On Tuesday evening, the man spotted and photographed an animal from his raised hideout in the forest near Altenahr in the western state of Rhineland-Palatinate, according to a statement from the local authority.
