Authors encouraged to write books in local languages

WINDHOEK, 07 DEC (NAMPA) - The Head of Educational Services in the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture, Esther Tobias has encouraged Namibian authors to write books for children, especially in local languages.
Speaking at the launch of the book 'The Heist Volume 1 and 2' by Romancia Uises here on Friday, Tobias said there are very few books in local languages available to Namibian children.
She noted that children should be given the opportunity to read books in their own vernacular.
