WINDHOEK, 12 NOV (NAMPA) – The agronomic crop that was most produced and consumed in Namibia during the 2017/18 financial year was white maize, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry, Percy Misika has said.
Speaking at the Namibia Agronomic Board (NAB) stakeholder consultation workshop here on Monday, Misika said 76 660 tonnes of white maize meal were produced locally and 50 483 tonnes imported, meaning 60 per cent of the total consumption was locally produced.
