WINDHOEK, 16 APR (NAMPA) - The Republikein newspaper’s cartoonist, Gene Travers passed away on Thursday.
Travers died in the Paramount Private Hospital in Windhoek at around 15h25 after he got ill. He was 70 years old.
Republikein newspaper editor, Dani Booysen confirmed Travers' death to Nampa.
Booysen described Travers as an extremely talented journalist who made a great contribution to informing Namibians about what was happening in the country through cartoons.
