Oshakati Town Council to go ahead with housing development project at Onawa

OSHAKATI, 16 NOV (NAMPA) – The Oshakati Town Council will go ahead with its housing development project at the Onawa village, despite resistance from some residents.
Council Chief Executive Officer, Werner Iita told Nampa on enquiry Wednesday that council has already compensated 89 of the Onawa village’s 97 homesteads and negotiations are ongoing to ensure that the remaining eight households are also compensated so that the area is free of traditionally-owned land.
